AquaPhysical launches FloatFit GROW Brand new group exercise classes for children
43.3% of children lead active lives but only 17.5% of them are meeting the Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines of 60+ minutes of activity every day – Active Lives Children and Young People Survey published by Sport England in December 2018.
On 1st February 2019, AquaPhysical launched a professionally designed programme for children using their innovation – the world’s first floating exercise mat, the AquaBase. 30 minute FloatFit GROW Classes are being introduced in selected clubs and facilities across the UK and globally.
Creator of AquaPhysical, Leila Francis Coleman (30) says, “Experienced fitness instructors help children develop a positive attitude to learning new skills and building water confidence. Group exercise has a positive impact on mental wellbeing and happiness. FloatFit GROW is already making a difference!”
AquaPhysical Co-Founder, Head of Programming and ex-Gym Manager, Tom Whelan (29), adds “It is a great opportunity for swimming pools to engage with younger members of the community and be instrumental in instilling the importance of a physically active lifestyle.”
FloatFit GROW joins AquaPhysical’s current FloatFit programmes:
• FloatFit HIIT (the original high intensity interval workout on water)
• FloatFit BALANCE (inspired by Yoga and Pilates)
In the UK alone, AquaPhysical work with Everyone Active, Fusion, Places For People, GLL, Serco, Parkwood Leisure, DW Fitness First, David Lloyd and Village Hotels. By implementing FloatFit, increased member acquisition, engagement and retention is possible.
