11th International Standards Meeting (ISM) proved a huge success!EuropeActive hosted its first-ever virtual International Standards Meeting (ISM) on Thursday, 19th November 2020. Speakers and panelists shared their knowledge, expertise and insights under the theme of ‘Facing the New Normal Together’ with more than 100 participants from 27 different countries. They explored the significant challenges Covid-19 has posed on training providers, employers, practitioners and other key stakeholders working in the fitness and physical activity sector.For more information, click here.
CEN Technical Specification for Operating Clubs in Covid-19 RestrictionsUnder the direction of CEN (The European Committee for Standardization) a Working Group of experts are urgently developing standards for operating and managing fitness clubs during an infectious outbreak – such as we are experiencing in the Covid-19 pandemic. The new Technical Specification will bring together the very best practices, guidance and evidence available which is offered by European governments, health officials and experts from the fitness and sport sectors.For more information, click here.

EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel announces ‘Healthy Lifestyle for All’ Initiative On Tuesday November 17th, the European Commission organised the high-level conference ‘The recovery of the sport sector after the COVID-19 crisis: the way ahead’. The conference was hosted by European Commissioner Maryia Gabriel, who is in charge of the EU sport policy and who used this opportunity to announce her new flagship initiative “Healthy Lifestyle for All”. The initiative will take a cross-sectoral approach to promoting an active, healthy lifestyle for all Europeans and EuropeActive is eager to collaborate with the European Commission to make it a real success.For further information, click here.

4th FORUM for Anti-Doping in Recreational Sport EuropeActive hosted the 4th Annual FORUM for Anti-Doping in Recreational Sport on Thursday 12th November. With more than 150 delegates from around the world, the FORUM proved a great success and demonstrated its importance as an effective platform to better understand the prevalence and actions required in doping in recreational sport.For further information on the FAIR+ project, click here.
Final conference & Partners Meeting of the BLUEPRINT Project On Wednesday 18th November, the final conference of the BLUEPRINT project took place virtually with the theme of “Are we on our own?” One week later, we held the Final BLUEPRINT Partners Meeting to address the final actions & practicalities required for its completion at the end of 2020.For further information on the BLUEPRINT project, click here.
