Orangetheory Fitness, a global specialist in science and technology-based fitness tracking, sees great success during Heart Health Month, supporting the British Heart Foundation while raising money and awareness.
As a global leader in training engineered towards heart health and fitness monitoring technology, Orangetheory (OTF) looked to see how they could make an even bigger impact and raise awareness to support stronger heart health. The Orangetheory team decided to reach out to The British Heart Foundation to see how they could raise awareness and support heart health month in February.
Studies have continually shown that physical activity can significantly impact our health and support building a stronger heart. According to BHF, “Being active can reduce your risk of developing some heart and circulatory diseases by as much as 35%” (Physical inactivity, 2022).
OTF’s unique idea was to host heart-health themed events to teach their members about the importance of physical activity and eating right to ensure a healthy heart.
As part of the February calendar events, OTF hosted themed workouts, 90-minute HIIT sessions, a Nutrition Workshop and Heart Healthy food pop-ups in the OTF studios, featuring local businesses.
During the month, the fitness studio reached out to their members to tell us how physical fitness under the Orange Lights gave them More Life.
“Joining OTF has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. The pounds and inches are slowly coming off but the main thing is the magic that’s happening on the inside. My resting heart rate has dropped from 78bpm to 56bpm, my VO2 max has gone from poor to good/excellent and my blood pressure having been high is now a very acceptable 121/76. Knowing you’re getting healthier on the inside too is such an amazing feeling.”
“Lockdown saw my weight balloon to a massive 23 stone, and things reached a head when during a regular trip to my GP, he told me I had high blood pressure and a higher than normal heart rate. After this, I was put on medication and told I wouldn’t make it to 50 if I continued. These were hard words

to hear at the tender age of 35. It was then that I decided something had to change. 7 months [at OTF], a Transformation Challenge and numerous benchmarks later, I am happy to say I am 6 stone down, my resting heart is as low as 53, and I am in talks with my Dr to come off my medication. He has said I have added years to my life, and my heart has never been healthier and is only getting better.”
As they continue to see success hosting charity workouts in support of The British Heart Foundation, OTF looks forward to hosting more.
“After seeing great results during our 2022 Heart Health Month campaign, we are already in the works of planning next years. How can we make it bigger, raise more money and make sure everyone
understands just how important physical activity is to keep your heart healthy!”
