FIBO boss focuses on synergies derived from cooperation
Silke Frank (47), Event Director of FIBO since 2017, has been appointed as a new member of the Board of Directors of Europe Active (EA). Together with Alfonso Jiménez (Ingesport GO fit), Jennifer Halsall (Basic-Fit International) and Ana Damaso (Portugal Activo), who is reappointed, the General Assembly of EuropeActive appointed the new quartet to the board that will in future have three female members. The new President is David Stalker while Andreas Paulsen will act as Executive Director. Both had already served on the Board before. Marco Mazzanti will in future act as a co-opted member of the Board.
For FIBO this appointment is a premiere: The leading Trade Show for Fitness, Wellness and health is represented on the EA Board for the first time. The General Assembly – originally scheduled for Cologne – was held as an online event in view of the current situation and according to the articles of association.
“The situation at present shows the importance of having a lobby group that is active across Europe and closely cooperating with the national associations. This also holds true for FIBO as the melting pot for the global industry,” says Silke Frank whose work on the Board will focus on the fields of finance and strategy. Serving on the EA Board, she adds, will lay the foundation for generating even bigger synergies in future – also in view of the German fitness market, the country with the highest membership numbers in Europe. Silke Frank: “I very much look forward to working as an EA board member.”
