Saturday 4 September is the date you’ve been waiting for, to take part in the hottest fitness trend and begin your open water swimming adventure, as the Royal Life Saving Society UK’s Open Water Festival, makes its long-awaited return.

Hosted at The Lenches Lake in Evesham, this festival has swims to suit everyone, whether you’re under 10-years-old dashing to make a splash, a beginner finally daring to dip, or a seasoned swimmer getting back to the great outdoors.

We are delighted to announce that a Sportswoman, Olympic medalist, television personality, devoted mother of three, and public speaker, Sharron Davies will be joining us on Saturday and participating in one of our swims! Councillor Sue Amor,  Mayor of Evesham will also be attending.

There’s never been a better time to give open water swimming a try: with idyllic surroundings, professional advice on hand, attractions between the swim events, hot food and drinks available, it’s going to be fantastic, a COVID-safe day out for all the family!

Zone3, developers of the world’s highest-rated open water swimming products, are the headline sponsors of the festival, with additional sponsor support from dryrobe and Swim Secure.

The day will  consist of the following competitive and non-competitive swims, suitable for a variety of ages and abilities*:

1600m swim: sponsored by Zone3 with £200 and £150 vouchers available to win

800m swim:   sponsored by Swim Secure two goody bags up for grabs

400m swim:   sponsored by dryrobe you could win an advanced or an organic robe

400m leisure loop (non-competitive swim): sponsored by dryrobe, you could win one of their organic or Advance products

200m swim: sponsored by the Beyond Swim, you could win a goody bag

Rookie Splash (under 10s supervised swim): sponsored by dryrobe, the budding outdoor swimmer in your family could be the lucky winner of one of their organic or Advance products

The swims get underway on Saturday morning and will take place one after the other, with the timing of each swim and the full event itinerary, confirmed and advertised nearer the time. All participants will receive a swim hat, medal, goody bag and have the chance to win one of the great prizes listed above.

*For the 200m swim, participants must be over 10-years-old on the day. The Rookie Splash is for under 10s only and must have adult supervision with them in the water. All other swims are open to participants 16-years-old or over.
